Matt Damon’s ‘Bourne 2016’ Casts ‘Vinyl’ Star Ato Essandoh

Star of BBC America’s “Copper” joins previously announced Tommy Lee Jones, Alicia Vikander

The “Bourne 2016” family just got a little bigger, with the addition of HBO regular Ato Essandoh.

Star of the forthcoming Bobby Cannavale rock n’ roll period drama “Vinyl,” Essandoh joins the previously announced Tommy Lee Jones, Alicia Vikander, Vincent Cassel and Julia Stiles.

Character details are predictably under wraps. Essandoh has previously appeared in the BBC America series “Copper,” as well as landing stints on HBO’s “Girls” and CBS’ “Blue Bloods.” His film credits include “Blood Diamond” and “Django Unchained.”

Paul Greengrass returns to the “Bourne” series as director, and Frank Marshall will again serve as producer with Jeffrey Weiner for Captivate Entertainment. Greengrass, Damon, Greg Goodman and Ben Smith will also produce. Christopher Rouse and Henry Morrison serve as executive producers.

Rouse and Greengrass co-wrote the screenplay.

Essandoh is represented by Abrams Artists Agency, Sinclair Management and attorney Ryan S. LeVine.
