While the rest of the media world is focusing on Donald Trump and Thursday’s Fox News GOP debate, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow has something else on her mind.

Maddow will host “American Disaster: The Crisis in Flint, An MSNBC Town Hall” from Flint, Michigan tonight at 6PT/9 ET.

“We planned to cover it as just another outrageous news story. But the calamity that this entails for 100,000 people, for 30,000 families, almost stops you in your tracks. It affected us profoundly,” Maddow told Vogue. “When people in Flint started complaining about water that was brown and hurt when it touched you and smelled bad, bringing jugs of water to the city council, there were no locally elected officials to complain to.”

Maddow and members of the Flint community will examine how this man-made water crisis is now a full-blown emergency with potentially devastating health effects for thousands of residents.

Guests include Flint Mayor Karen Weaver, Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha, Marc Edwards from Virginia Tech, Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-Michigan) and many others who will help looks for solutions.
