‘Nurse Jackie’ Gets Fourth Season Pickup; ‘Borgias’ Gets Good Ratings News

Network says “The Borgias” scores higher ratings than “The Tudors”

Showtime has picked up "Nurse Jackie" for a fourth season and said the first season of "The Borgias" outperformed the highest season of "The Tudors."

"Nurse Jackie," which stars Emmy winner Edie Falco, averaged 2.8 million weekly viewers in its third season.

The network also announced that "The Borgias" finished its first season averaging 3.3 million weekly viewers. That was up 20 percent over "The Tudors," which averaged 2.7 million viewers in its fouth and highest-rated season.

The series has been picked up for a second season, and 10 new episodes will go into production this summer to air in 2012.
