Former “American Idol” judge Abdul has signed on to judge “So You Think You Can Dance Australia,” which is slated to return to the air on Network Ten next year.

“I just can’t wait to start work on ‘So You Think You Can Dance Australia,’” Abdul said of her new job. “I am thrilled to be a part of this great show and to experience first-hand the skill, passion and athleticism of these dancers.”

Abdul added, “Aussie dancers are without a doubt some of the best in the world, and it is an honor for me to be a part of finding Australia’s best dancer.”

Carrie Bickmore, a presenter on Network Ten’s “The Project,” will host the series.

Abdul will be joined on the judges’ panel by choreographers Jason Gilkison, Aaron Cash and Shannon Holtzapffel.

Abdul, who departed “American Idol” in 2009 and served as a judge on the first season of “The X Factor” alongside her former “Idol” colleague Simon Cowell, guest-judged the American version of “So You Think You Can Dance” in July.
