Ratings: ‘Saving Hope’ Plunges, ‘The Choice’ Rises, CBS Wins With Repeats

A "Big Bang Theory" rerun grabs the night's top ratings and biggest audience

NBC's medical drama "Saving Hope" plunged in the ratings Thursday night, while Fox's dating shows "Take Me Out" and "The Choice" saw dramatic growth and CBS won the night with repeats, according to preliminary numbers.

CBS took first place in both the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic with a 1.7 rating/5 share and total viewership with 7.8 million total viewers. A "Big Bang Theory" repeat at 8:30  was the night's highest-rated and most-watched program with a 2.4/8 and 8.9 million total viewers.

Fox took a narrow second place in the demo with a 1.4/5 and fourth place in total viewers with 3.4 million. "Take Me Out" at 8 jumped 30 percent from last week, matching its series premiere with a 1.3/4, and drew 3.1 million total viewers. "The Choice" grew 33 percent in the demo to a 1.6/5 and drew 3.8 million total viewers.

Univision grabbed third place in ratings and total viewers with an average 1.4/4 and 3.5 million.

ABC took fourth place in ratings and second in total viewers with a 1.3/4 and 5.2 million. The singing competition "Duets" at 8 held steady with last week, though it tied its series low with a 1.0/3, and had 4.8 million total viewers. "Wipeout" the following hour dipped 15 percent from last week for a 1.7/5 and took 5.5 million total viewers. "Rookie Blue" at 10 saw an 18 percent increase in the demo with a 1.3/4 and grabbed 5.1 million total viewers.

NBC came in fifth in ratings and total viewers with a 0.6/2 and 2.4 million. Following repeats of "The Office" and "Parks and Recreation," "Saving Hope" at 9 dropped 43 percent from last week, hitting a series low of 0.4/1, and drew 2.2 million total viewers. "Rock Center With Brian Williams" the following hour saw a 13 percent gain over last week with a 0.9/3 and received 3.3 million total viewers.
