Hulu has opted not to renew its original animated series “The Awesomes,” TheWrap has learned.
Seth Meyers and Mike Shoemaker created and are executive producers on the series, which follows the greatest superhero team ever after its most powerful members have departed. Lorne Michaels is also an exec producer.
The Hulu series stars Meyers, Ike Barinholtz, Bill Hader, Taran Killam, Rashida Jones, Paula Pell, Josh Meyers, Kenan Thompson, Bobby Lee, Steve Higgins, Emily Spivey and Bobby Moynihan.
“The Awesomes” is a Hulu co-production with Broadway Video and is executive produced by Meyers, Shoemaker, Broadway Video’s Andrew Singer and Bento Box Entertainment. Bento Box Entertainment also serves as the animator.
