Showtime has ordered third seasons of "Nurse Jackie" and "United States of Tara."
The renewals aren’t unexpected, given the strong ratings for both shows, which just returned for second seasons this past weekend. Showtime likes to give early renewals whenever possible.
“Both are iconic shows for our brand and our thanks to the dedicated producers, cast, and crews who work so hard to make them so great," Showtime president Bob Greenblatt said of "Jackie" and "Tara". "Strong women will continue to rule on this network for a long time to come."
