‘Star Trek’ Porn and Other Things I’ve Learned

What I learned this week:

1. There’s a “Star Trek” porn send-up about to beam down to shelves, thanks to Hustler. It stars Sasha Grey, the 21-year-old sensation who has already crossed over to the mainstream by starring in Steven Soderbergh’s “The Girlfriend Experience," also available this week via download. See the trailer, which is safe for work.

2. In other porn-genre-WTF? news, veteran Ron Jeremy — or at least a certain portion of him — stars in the horror parody “One-Eyed Monster." Is it just me or is the adult film legend starting starting to look like an old lady? Shudder. Watch the new trailer.

3. “Samson and Delilah," Aussie Warwick Thornton’s debut feature film about indigenous kids in love, is the one to beat in Un Certain Regard at Cannes. Some critics are calling it the best Australian film ever made. It is tough-going but brilliant. Watch the trailer.

4. Kal Penn’s apparently taking time out from the Obama administration and John Cho's on leave from the Starship Enterprise to bring us “A Very Harold and Kumar Christmas” next year. Guess who won’t be going to that premiere?

5. New York has a Jedi academy.

6. Secret Sauce TV’s summer action tentpole “My Little Pony” might just give “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” a run for its money at the box office.

7. Brett Ratner off “Conan," Robert Rodriguez on “Sin City 2."

8. Even 52 years on, Jack Arnold’s “The Incredible Shrinking Man” still packs an amazing punch. Please, please please don’t remake it, Eddie Murphy! Surely the world needs more “Norbit” instead?

9. The making-of on the DVD release of “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” is feature-length. “Benjamin Button” feature-length. Yes, a documentary that’s close to three hours long. And it’s brilliant. Fincher = genius. His ass was robbed at the Oscars I tells ya!

10. “Give ‘Em Hell Malone” looks set to be the next “Shoot ‘Em Up” — the best action movie hardly anyone has ever seen. The Cannes trailer rocks — but not quite as much as the teaser did.
