Stephen Colbert, our nation’s self-proclaimed “most famous Catholic,” knew there was something funny about the newish holy leader — but what he didn’t realize until now is that Pope Francis is Batman.
Rumors have emerged that Pope Francis sneaks out of the Vatican at night in regular priest clothes and ministers to the homeless.

“Holy Holy Father, Nation!” Colbert exclaimed on Tuesday’s “Colbert Report.”
He then ran down the similarities between the high priest and Bruce Wayne, which are staggering: Both are wealthy bachelors who live alone in giant mansions, and each has his own special “mobile.”
“Not only that, Batman talks to Morgan Freeman, and the Pope talks to God — who is also Morgan Freeman,” Colbert pieced together.
The “Colbert Report” host added, “And just like the Bat-suit, the Pope-suit has nipples.”
So there’s that.
