Tina Brown turned up on "The View" to discuss her redesign of Newsweek, which hit newsstands on Monday.

"Newsweek really needed to be modernized," Brown told the usual table of Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sherri Shepherd and Elisabeth Hasselbeck. "We've really sort of recharged it, redesigned it, made it much more exciting visually, much more picture driven, much more expressive of the moment — and much more a factor for women."
Brown argued that, despite critics, the issue's focus — "150 Women Who Shake the World" — is timely.
"The world is being revolutionized by these Arab revolutions we're seeing, and women are playing an enormous part of it," Brown said. "I think we're really on the zeitgeist with this issue. We have Hillary Clinton talking about how she's making women the central plank of her whole initiative in the state department, and also these incredible pictures of women in the world."
She added: "It really is a moment for women globally."
