T.J. Miller Shares His Morning Show Performance Art, and the Dribble-Take (Video)

“Silicon Valley” star keeps things interesting during local morning show appearances with crazy hair and crazier antics

Promotional tours for film and television projects can be incredibly boring for an actor, but comedian T.J. Miller found a way to make it interesting and fun.

“I like to do morning shows,” Miller told Conan O’Brien on TBS’s “Conan.” “They can be their own little pieces of performance art if you really approach them from the right angle.”

O’Brien had a few short clips from various appearances Miller made for his appearance in “Transformers: Age of Extinction” over the summer. He had wild hair in most of them, and was strangely wet in several.

At least some of that was the result of Miller’s fresh take on the classic spit-take. After watching a clip of him doing it on a morning show, soaking one anchor’s foot, Miller demonstrated the move for O’Brien and Andy Richter.

“I sort of invented this move, which is the dribble-take,” he said. “You don’t spit, it just sort of falls onto your chest.”

Miller’s next project is a voice role in Disney’s “Big Hero 6,” hitting theaters Nov. 7. He will also appear in Season 2 of HBO’s “Silicon Valley.”
