Universal Developing ‘Bait & Switch’ For Mark Wahlberg

The action-adventure comedy is the first sale for writer Matthew J. O’Neill

Universal Pictures is developing "Bait & Switch," a spec script the company acquired, for Mark Wahlberg, TheWrap confirmed.

The studio won't say what the movie is about, but acknowledges that it's an action/adventure comedy.

It is the first sale for O'Neill, who is repped by Michael Pio of Innovative Artists and Smart Entertainment.

Scott Stuber ("Your Highness,") ("47 Ronin,"), ("Battleship"), ("Safe House") will produce for Stuber Pictures with John Jacobs ("Beverly Hills Chihuahua"), Stephen Levinson ("Contraband," "Entourage") and Wahlberg.

Stuber Pictures and Smart Entertainment are producing "Ted" for Universal and MRC. The film stars Wahlberg and Mila Kunis and is being directed by "Family Guy" creator and Emmy winner Seth MacFarlane.

Wahlberg was twice nominated for the Academy Award: For best motion picture for 2010's "The Fighter" and for best supporting actor for his role in the 2006 "The Departed." He and Levinson also produce "Entourage" and "Boardwalk Empire."

Wahlberg and Levinson are repped by WME.
