In yet another shake-up in the upper echelons of Spanish-language television giant Univision, Peter Lazarus, executive vice president of network sales, has stepped down. A company spokesperson confirms to TheWrap that Lazarus "is no longer with the company."
Lazarus, who worked in Univision's New York office, was appointed EVP of network sales in 2008. Prior to that, he served as senior vice president of sales and entertainment at IMG Sports and Entertainment.
A source with knowledge of Lazarus' departure says that Lazarus was named executive vice president, sales strategy of new networks last week, but decided to step down.
Lazarus' departure comes less than a month after the resignation of Univision President and CEO Joe Uva, who said that he was leaving to "capitalize on other opportunities." In a further sign that a shakeup is underway for the company, Univision recruited former NBC and AOL executive Randy Falco as its chief operating officer in January, suggesting that the company felt the need to bolster its management roster.
