"The Widow" is a psychological thriller from the director of "The Crazies"
Vendome Pictures has acquired "The Widow," a spec script that is being billed as a psychological thriller.
It's been written by Ray Wright, who penned the 2010 horror film "The Crazies." "The Widow" focuses on a young woman who befriends a widow only to find that there's more to her new buddy than meets the eye.
Vendome CEO Philippe Rousselet, left, will produce the project along with Steve Golin and Alix Madigan of Anonymous Content. Vendome said it will finance the film and plans to start production this year. The company is currently looking for a director.
Vendome launched in 2008 with a reported $115 million credit facility. It served as the production company on "Larry Crowne" (2011) and "Source Code" (2011). Anonymous Content was founded in 1999 by CEO Steve Golin and has overseen a number of notable films including "Being John Malkovich" (1999) and "Babel" (2006).
