Merry Christmas (Eve), “Sherlock” fans!
The BBC released a seven-minute, 12-second mini-episode on Tuesday entitled “Many Happy Returns,” which is meant to serve as a preview for Season 3 of the Benedict Cumberbatch mystery thriller.
While Holmes has been presumed deceased for two years after being seen hurling himself off of a rooftop, one man is not convinced that the sleuth is gone. As viewers will soon find out, he’s correct.

So what has Sherlock been doing away from Baker Street? Apparently, Holmes has been solving the tough cases for other people and refusing the credit. A tiger cannot change his stripes, and a super-detective cannot shed his trench coat, magnifying glass and his deerstalker hat, apparently.
“Many Happy Returns,” which gets its name from a video message Sherlock left for Dr. John Watson (Martin Freeman), was written by show creators Mark Gatiss and Stephen Moffat.
The “Game” is back on BBC One on New Year’s Day. The series lands on U.S. soil Jan. 19 via PBS.
