Welcome, witches. Something wicked this way comes — to your Twitter feed.
The official Twitter and Instagram accounts for Netflix’s “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” were activated on Friday the 13th, and with the new social handles came a bevy of photos and a teaser video to obsess over.
Showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa shared the teaser video, which is decidedly much more dark than the original series that starred Melissa Joan Hart. It features a full blood-red moon, a book of spells, and yes, Salem the black cat.
“Join the coven, we’re waiting for you,” the video ends. Over on its Instagram account, there’s a video of star Kiernan Shipka and other cast members urging the same.
“Hey, witches. Welcome to our coven,” the former “Mad Men” star said.
The Instagram account also features a handful of photos from the comics that might hint at plot points in the upcoming series, including one where Sabrina debates whether to join her boyfriend Harvey (Ross Lynch) at a pep rally and another calling to Salem to cover for her as she clutches the Necronomicon.
These aren’t the first teases of the week — Aguirre-Sacasa has been leaving hints for fans for months, though leading up to San Diego Comic-Con, those teases have been getting better. Earlier this week, the official poster was released featuring the outline of Sabrina and her feline best friend.
On Friday, he tweeted that the release is “getting closer… this is going to be a wild ride. Get onboard!”
