David Goyer, Justin Rhodes to Write Script for Green Lantern Corps Movie

Goyer, who wrote “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” will also produce

Warner Bros. has set David Goyer and Justin Rhodes to write the script for a Green Lantern Corps movie, TheWrap has learned.

Goyer will produce while DC Entertainment President Geoff Johns and Jon Berg will executive produce, based on a treatment by Goyer and Johns.

It remains unclear whether Ryan Reynolds — who appeared in 2011’s “Green Lantern” alongside Peter Sarsgaard, Blake Lively, Mark Strong and Angela Bassett — will be a part of this film.

According to DC Comics lore, the Green Lantern Corps includes the green-clad, power-ring-wielding superhero as well as an intergalactic police force sent by the Guardians from the planet Oa.

“Green Lantern” was negatively received by critics — it currently holds a score of 26 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. With a reported production budget of $200 million, the film opened to $53 million and has grossed just $219 million globally.

One year ago, Johns confirmed that Green Lantern and the entire Green Lantern Corps will be joining the “Justice League” films.

“We’ve been to the bottom of the oceans, we’ve been to ancient Greece mythology, we’ve been to the past and future Flash, into the digital world with Cyborg, we still got to go to space,” the longtime writer of the comic book “Green Lantern” said. “So the Green Lanterns and the Green Lantern Corps will be coming to join the Justice League universe.”

“Justice League” will hit theaters this November.
