The comedian shared her thought process during her daytime talk show’s premiere week.

Here are some of the best reasons Ellen came up with to host the Academy Awards — and some of the top reasons she considered to stay home on her couch and watch along with the rest of us.

Pro: “Meryl Streep could get a record 17th Oscar nomination.”
Con: “#WereOverItMeryl.”

Pro: “A lot of fancy designers will want to approach me and want me to wear a beautiful, expensive gown of theirs.”
Con: “Ain’t no way in hell I’m wearing a gown.”

Pro: “The theater holds 3,000 seats.”
Con: “It’s going to take me 45 minutes to dance through all those aisles.”

There were plenty more, and, ultimately, the Pros won.
