A new Quinnipiac poll finds Fox News to be the most trusted American news organization.

Twenty-nine percent of those surveyed trust Fox News; 22 percent trust CNN and MSNBC came in third at 7 percent.

Twenty percent answered that they trust Fox News’ coverage “a great deal”; CNN netted 18 percent and NBC, CBS, ABC and MSNBC each drew 11 percent.

The poll also invoked three other prominent figures: NBC’s Brian Williams, Fox News Channel’s Bill O’Reilly and “The Daily Show’s” Jon Stewart.

Regarding Williams, 42 percent answered that the suspended anchor should return to his on-air post. 23 percent think O’Reilly should be fired or suspended; 51 percent didn’t know enough about the O’Reilly controversy to make a judgment.

As for Stewart, Tina Fey was the most popular choice to replace him.
