HBO Mulling Sequel to ‘The Normal Heart’

Larry Kramer would write, with Ryan Murphy once again directing

HBO’s adaptation of the Larry Kramer play “The Normal Heart” hasn’t yet premiered, but already the network is looking at a possible sequel.

The network has commissioned a script for a possible sequel to the movie from Kramer, who penned both the play and the HBO adaptation.

“American Horror Story” and “Glee” boss Murphy, who directed the adaptation, would again step behind the camera for the potential sequel.

The play and its adaptation chronicle the early days of the AIDS crisis in 1980s New York City, and the efforts of gay activists and their allies in the medical community to bring attention to the epidemic.

Matt Bomer, “The Big Bang Theory” star Jim Parsons, Alfred Molina, Mark Ruffalo, Taylor Kitsch and Julia Roberts star in the HBO adaptation, which is set to premiere in May.
