Paul Reiser Blasts NBC on Leno (Video)

The recently-axed sitcom star uses his former bosses’ own airwaves to skewer them

Paul Reiser might be a tad bitter about the abrupt cancellation of his blink-and-you'll miss-it return to TV, "The Paul Reiser Show."

The former "Mad About You" star, who was shown the door at NBC after just two episodes of his new venture, returned to the network Monday night on "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno" to bite the hand that pulled the plug on him. Suggesting that NBC's decision to drop him might have been rash, Reiser went on to take a dig at the network's ratings performance, cracking, "When you’re the last place network, you don’t want to jeopardize that. You found your niche, stay there.”

Oh — and then he turned to Christina Aguilera, a musical coach on NBC's upcoming singing competition "The Voice," and accused the network of promoting her series to the detriment of his own.

It's difficult to say whether Reiser's jeremiad actually lasted longer than his new show, or if the awkwardness just made it seem that way. Judge for yourself by watching the video.
