Kyle Kashuv, a survivor of the school shooting in Parkland, Florida, is set to make a big-league television appearance Tuesday evening on Fox News with network heavyweight Martha MacCallum.

Unlike his more frequently-seen classmates like David Hogg and Emma Gonzalez, who have made the rounds promoting gun control on CNN and MSNBC, Kashuv has been vocal on Twitter about his pro-Second Amendment views.

His upcoming interview marks the first time he has appeared on the near-primetime program and his growing influence in conservative circles as a shooting survivor more skeptical of gun control.

Kashuv did not respond to multiple requests for comment from TheWrap over several days. Reached by phone, Hogg said he didn’t really know Kashuv but welcomed his views to the airwaves.

“He has his opinions and that’s great. We need more people just [like] him speaking up regardless of whether or not they agree,” Hogg told TheWrap. “We need this to be a discussion not a debate because this is about one thing, kid’s lives.”

For Fox News, the attempt to find a conservative student to rebut the avalanche of gun control programming coming from CNN and MSNBC has been rocky.

The network previously latched their hopes to student Colton Haab, who claimed last month that CNN had refused to allow him to ask a question about arming teachers during their much-hyped gun violence town hall. Haab said the network offered him “scripted” questions instead.

Fox News honchoes like Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson and Jesse Watters all ran with the story before Haab’s accusation fell apart. All three hosts issued on-air corrections.

Kashuv’s vocally pro-Trump Twitter account also likely grabbed the attention of Fox News bookers. On Tuesday, Kashuv even offered to mow the president’s law or cut the grass at Trump Tower in New York City if asked.
