Taylor Swift Opens AMAs With Elaborate ‘Blank Space’ Performance (Video)

The “1989” singer mounts an impressive number for the first live version of her new single.

Taylor Swift delivered a dramatic performance of her new single to open Sunday’s American Music Awards.

The mega-selling Swift sang “Blank Space” live for the first time with an elaborate set, running through a series of fatal attractions with handsome suitors.

The song, a wink at her serial romances with high profile men, saw her dining in mid-air, setting fire to flowers, beating up guys in smoking jackets and other scorned shenanigans.

Though the camera panned to looks of approval in the audience, notably from her pal Lorde, it was undeniably Taylor’s show.

Swift is also recipient of  the inaugural Dick Clark Award for Excellence, in recognition of blockbuster sales over the course of her career.
