‘Beverly Hills Cop’ Gets Pass From CBS; Producers Consider Other Outlets

Pilot starred Brandon T. Jackson as Axel Foley's son

"Beverly Hills Cop" has gotten a red light from CBS.

The network has taken a pass on the pilot, which was executive produced and written by "The Shield" boss Shawn Ryan.

However, the show's producers are considering shopping the pilot to other outlets.

The high-profile pilot starred Brandon T. Jackson as the son of Axel Foley, played by Eddie Murphy in the movie series. Jackson's character is also a police officer, who takes down criminals among the rich and famous. Murphy was attached to appear in at least one episode of the Sony Pictures Television project. Judge Reinhold, who also starred in the movie series, also appeared in the pilot.

Marney Hochman was also aboard as an executive producer.
