Cara Delevingne Rips Richard Madden After Actor Criticizes Awkward ‘Paper Towns’ Interview

“If you really want attention that badly, try focusing on your own work and not other people’s,” film’s star says

Cara Delevingne took a few swipes at “Game of Thrones” alum Richard Madden after the actor reportedly criticized her for an incredibly awkward morning news interview she did while promoting “Paper Towns.”

Madden was interviewed for Britain’s Style Magazine, and according to The Mirror, he had a few choice words for the young starlet.

“It made her seem ungrateful. She showed her age,” Madden reportedly said. “For ‘Cinderella’ I did six weeks of those interviews, where you get asked the same eight questions. If you’re not capable of doing that gracefully, then don’t do it.”

Delevingne struck back on Twitter, writing, “@_richardmadden I have no idea who you are but I think it’s little desperate for a grown man to be bad mouthing someone they don’t know.”

“@_richardmadden if you really want attention that badly, try focusing on your own work and not other people’s,” she also tweeted.

Madden responded to the backlash on his own Twitter account, saying, “Hi @Caradelevingne, nothing but respect for you. Misquoted and blown out of proportion. #SlowNewsWeek”

During the original July interview with Delevingne, the morning news crew of “Good Day Sacramento” wound up mocking the actress after she appeared annoyed by the questions they were asking.

“No, I never read the book or the script actually, I kind of winged it,” the actress responded jokingly when asked if she had read the John Green novel on which the movie was based. Asked if she had much in common with her character Margo, the model-turned-actress replied, “No, I actually hate her.”
