Fans of the late

“The tribute at the end is the most beautiful thing you’ll ever see,” said Gibson. “All the things you love about ‘Fast & Furious’ are in there, but this tribute is so touching — and necessary. The fans are really going to appreciate it.”
Gibson reflected on the heavy moments following Walker’s untimely death, which came in November 2013 when a car Walker was riding in collided with a lamppost and two trees, bursting into flames and killing the action star and driver Roger Rodas.
“Everything stopped. Everything shut down. Our first instinct was to quit and just let it go,” Gibson said of the film.
“Once the family stepped up and — Paul had gotten through 85 percent of the movie — once his mother and father, his brothers … said we are in full support of you guys finishing the movie. Paul was not a selfish person,” said Gibson.
“Furious 7” stars Gibson, Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Ludacris and Lucas Black. It’s the seventh in a major franchise for Universal, directed by James Wan.
Diesel has previously spoken out about the significant loss, calling Walker his best friend.
“This was a labor of love. It was in some ways the hardest movie I ever had to do because the relationships that you see on film are so real,” Diesel said at recent screening of the new movie. “When the tragedy happened, I lost my best friend. I lost my brother.”
