Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias has landed a put-pilot deal with ABC Television to write and star in a multi-camera comedy series based on his own life experiences, to be produced by ABC Studios.
The sitcom, with the working title “The Fluffy Shop,” will tackle such subjects as managing a home life during the few days he spends off the road each week. This is Iglesias’ first network pilot, having previously worked with the network as a recurring character on “Cristela.”
Iglesias will co-write the pilot with Jay Lavender and Tim Doyle, who will also serve as the showrunner. Tomorrow Studios’ CEO Marty Adelstein and President Becky Clements will serve as executive producers along with Joe Meloche.
The comedian starred in his own stand-up movie “The Fluffy Movie,” and also recently appeared in “Magic Mike: XXL.” Iglesias is represented by Arsonhouse Entertainment, CAA and attorney David J. Matlof.
