Laura Benanti’s Melania Trump Accidentally Endorses Hillary Clinton in ‘Late Show’ Sketch (Video)

“[Men] are all animals — only a woman could be president,” impersonator says

Oops! Laura Benanti’s Melania Trump accidentally endorsed her husband’s rival Hillary Clinton for president on the “Late Show with Stephen Colbert.”

Talking about Donald Trump’s “locker room talk” and Trump allegedly walking in on Miss USA pageant girls changing, the parody of Melania made sure to state that her husband is a kind man.

“It’s boy talk! ‘Bad boys, bad boys, what you gonna do?” she said on the Skype call, to which Colbert reminded her that her husband is a 70-year-old man. “Boys, men, it’s the same … Secretly they are all foul-mouthed, Billy Bush-grabbing pigs … They are all animals, only a woman could be president!”

“Hillary Clinton is a woman, why don’t you just vote for her?” Colbert asked.

Trump’s wife panicked and responded, “I can’t hear you, Stephen, oh no! Our connection is breaking up,” before disappearing from the Skype call. Colbert couldn’t keep in his laughter.

Colbert invited the fake Melania Trump onto the show after her Anderson Cooper interview in which she said the incident in which Trump was mic’d making lewd comments about women with Billy Bush was “boy talk, and [Trump] was led on — like, egged on — from the host to say dirty and bad stuff.”

“Yes, it was all Billy Bush’s fault,” Colbert said on his show regarding her comments. “Now I know why they are on a bus — it’s easier to throw Billy underneath it.”

And during her Skype Call, Benanti’s version of Melania assured Colbert that Bush rigged the election, and that she has more than forgiven her husband for the “disgusting” comments: “I have forgotten.”
