This sounds like a big vote of confidence in the renewed "American Idol."
After a year off, Simon Fuller, the British mogul who created "American Idol" and has been instrumental in its resurgence, will personally manage the career of the contestant who ends up winning season ten.
The 50-year-old Simon Cowell lookalike has repped former "American Idol" winners Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Jordin Sparks, David Cook and Chris Daughtry. He has also guided the post-"Idol" career of season eight runner-up Adam Lambert.
That Fuller declined to sign Lee DeWyze, the winner of season nine, only underscored the problems the show faced last year.
The possibility of being repped by Fuller is an enticing carrot to dangle in front of this season's eleven remaining contestants. He engineered the meteoric rise of the Spice Girls in the 1990s and currently manages Annie Lennox and "Idol" judge Jennifer Lopez.
