The Slamdance Film Festival is under new management.
The film organization, which has served as a launching pad for directors like Christopher Nolan and Lena Dunham, has promoted its own rising star, Anna Germanidi, to the top festival leadership position. Germanidi had served as the festival’s manager since 2012.

“I am really grateful for the opportunity to continue supporting the filmmaking community through Slamdance,” Germanidi said. “As we’re starting the next twenty years, we’re excited to welcome new talent into our creative family and together help independent cinema grow stronger.”
Slamdance co-founder Peter Baxter, who will continue to serve as the organization’s president and oversee its distribution business, said: “As Slamdance evolves, I’m very glad Anna has agreed to serve as the festival’s new Director. To have such a passionate leader who already knows Slamdance and has helped our community grow is invaluable for us as we move forward with our 21st festival.”
The 21st Slamdance Film Festival will take place in Park City, from January 23-29th.
