Sundance/IFC Promotes Trio of Marketing, Publicity Execs

Lauren Schwartz named vice president of publicity, Shani Ankori becomes vice president of marketing, Michael Winton is director of marketing and publicity for IFC Midnight

A trio of promotions in the AMC Networks-owned companies' marketing and publicity departments were announced on Wednesday.

Lauren Schwartz (above, left) has been upped to vice president of publicity, while Shani Ankori (above, middle) is now responsible for heading marketing for the company's distribution labels as vice president of marketing.

Michael Winton (above, right) has been named director of marketing and publicity for sister label IFC Midnight.

Schwartz has been with the Sundance/IFC since 2011, working on publicity campaigns for Oscar-nominated documentaries "Pina" and "How to Survive a Plague," as well as the indie comedy "Sleepwalk with Me." Previously, she worked at Donna Daniels PR and served as director of publicity for Oscilloscope Laboratories.

Ankori was head of marketing at Samuel Goldwyn Films and Roadside Attractions before joining the Sundance team in 2007, where she also worked on campaigns for "Pina" and "Plague," as well as upcoming releases "The Reluctant Fundamentalist" and "Frances Ha."

Winton, who was an English teacher in France before starting in Hollywood as an assistant at Sony Pictures Classics, has been with the company since 2008.

“Shani, Lauren and Michael are incredibly talented executives, whose work over the years has been invaluable to the success of our company,” Jonathan Sehring, president of Sundance Selects/IFC Films, said in a statement. "Collectively they will run all marketing and publicity for all three of our distribution labels.”
