‘Workaholics’ Picked Up for Second Shift by Comedy Central

Producers of slacker comedy will have to put in 10 more episodes worth of work

The slackers of Comedy Central's new series "Workaholics" have just received a new assignment, but they're not likely to resent this one.

The network announced on Wednesday that it had renewed the series, which debuted on April 6, for a second season consisting of 10 episodes.

The single-camera comedy, which stars Blake Anderson, Adam Devine and Anders Holm as a trio of labor-averse, substance-friendly telemarketers who also live together, has averaged 1.2 million total viewers since it premiered, with its most recent episode on April 27 representing a series high, with 1.5 million total viewers.

The show — which is executive-produced by former "Desperate Housewives" producer Kevin Etten — has also perforned well in the crucial adults 18-49 demo, experiencing double-digit growth in the demo each week since its premiere and scoring a season-high 1.0 rating in the demo last week, according to the network.
