EW’s Henry Goldblatt Jumps to People in Jess Cagle’s Time Inc. Shuffle

Additionally, JD Heyman, Betsy Gleick and Liz Sporkin recieve promotions

Entertainment Weekly’s Henry Goldblatt has jumped over to sister publication People as its new deputy editor and brand director under Jess Cagle, the recently appointed editorial director for both EW and People.

In the new role, he will provide editorial oversight to all of People’s brand extensions and will oversee the magazine’s front-of-book sections, in addition to managing staffing, budgets and collaborations with the Publishing side.

Goldblatt joined EW in 2002, most recently serving as its deputy editor and director of brand development. He’s credited with playing a key role in launching EW’s tablet edition and the brand’s Sirius XM Radio Channel.

He joined Time Inc. in 1995 as a reporter for Fortune.

Additionally, Cagle made several promotions at People. JD Heyman has been promoted from Executive Editor, Los Angeles, to Deputy Editor, Entertainment. Betsy Gleick has been upped from Executive Editor to Deputy Editor, Human Interest. And Liz Sporkin was elevated from Executive Editor to Executive Projects Director.

Cagle was appointed editorial director of both EW and People in January. He replaced Larry Hackett, who had been editor of People since 2006. Cagle had been editor of EW since 2009.
