The specter of Harvey Weinstein once again made its way to the set of “Morning Joe” on Friday. On hand was show regular Donny Deutsch, who took some time out during the program’s first hour to compare the many similarities between Harvey Weinstein and President Donald Trump.
“Like our president, everything is about him, how it affects him,” said Deutsch. “I’m not calling our president a sexual predator, but there are a lot of parallels in the psyche of these two guys.”
Deutsch said his analysis was informed by a meeting with Weinstein ten years ago.
“Ten years ago about six or seven guys were going to get together and buy New York Magazine and Harvey was one of them and I was in a room with him and after a half hour I was, like, ‘I’m not investing because every minute will be spent making sure he’s not getting more than everyone else,’” said Deutsch.
In his many colorful appearances on set, Deutsch has often freely speculated about the mental health of President Trump. In the past, he has suggested Trump is a sociopath and has called him a “physically disgusting pig.”
