Shondaland may very well implode soon, as the first look from the “Scandal” and “How to Get Away With Murder” crossover special teases a tense meet-up between Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) and Annalise Keating (Viola Davis).
In a photo shared by Entertainment Weekly on Wednesday, Liv and Annalise are seen entering a conference room in a way that suggests they both mean business (as per usual). But this time it’s sure to be even more personal for TGIT fans, who are already dealing with their emotions over the seventh and final season of “Scandal.”
Olivia, President Mellie Grant’s (Bellamy Young) chief of staff, and Annalise, a fierce attorney, will land on each other’s respective shows on March 1. Though no one is talking about how and why Shonda Rhimes’ leading ladies are going to collide.
But we’d be willing to bet all our popcorn and wine that it’s got something to do with Annalise’s wrongful convictions class action lawsuit against the state of Pennsylvania. You didn’t forget Pope & Associates was first and foremost a law firm, did you?
“It was black girl magic on steroids!” Davis told EW of filming the crossover. “Me and Kerry dancing to ‘Rock the Boat’? Hey, it can’t get any better.”
“I really love Viola,” Washington added. “I have such immense respect and admiration for her.”
