Jonathan Kier, former senior VP, international sales and distribution at the Weinstein Company, has joined Sierra / Affinity as executive VP of sales, the company announced 
Monday.
He will work closely with principals Nick Meyer and Mark Schaberg, selling foreign rights to the company's third-party movies and acting as sales agent for movies developed and produced by Sidney Kimmel Entertainment, OddLot Entertainment, Bold Films and Sierra Pictures and its partner, Incentive Filmed Entertainment.
At the Weinstein Company, he oversaw all aspects of the studio's in more than 50 countries. He also handled foreign sales at the major annual film markets.
Before joining Weinstein in 2005, he worked in affilliate sales strategy at MTV Networks, analyzing deals for more than 30 channels.
Sierra/Affinity is a film finance, production, and foreign sales company that was created in January 2011 from the combination of Sierra Pictures and Affinity International.
