President Barack Obama takes on Republican challenger Mitt Romney Wednesday night in the first of four debates in the coming weeks, including one vice presidential showdown.
The major networks and cable news channels will be broadcasting the debates in their entirety.
NPR, too, will provide live on-air coverage of the debates.
Online, the debates will be streamed on Ustream, YouTube, Facebook Live and various news sites including the Washington Post and the New York Times.
Twitter's official hashtag will be #debates. And Tumblr, always a favorite of .gif lovers, announced it will be creating and posting moving .gif images from the debates live on its election blog, in partnership with the Guardian newspaper.
