New trailer for director Timur Bekmambetov's "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" gives American history a gruesome twist
Vampire hunters are nothing new to entertainment — cue "Buffy" and "Blade" — but the monster slayers get a historical makeover in the new trailer for "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter."
"However history remembers me, before I was president, I shall always think of myself as a hunter," Honest Abe proclaims in the opening line.
The gruesome and graphic trailer features an ax-wielding Abe (Benjamin Walker) on a mission to avenge his mother's death and save the U.S. from being overtaken by the undead bloodsuckers.
"Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" will be released June 22 in 3D, so check out the trailer below. But beware — there will be blood.
