Just when things are looking up, gold dredger Sean Pomrenke hits a snag on the new episode of Discovery Channel’s “Bering Sea Gold” airing Friday at 10/9c.
This season, Sean and the crew of the Christine Rose face some new competition in the race for gold in the Alaska waters — the Gold Grabber run by rookie owner Hank Schimschat. But, he may have more immediate worries closer to home.

On the episode, Sean discovers “puddles of gold” and sets his plan to dredge it up. But just as things are looking up, he notices that one of the cables is worn dangerously thin.
From Original Productions, the creators of “Deadliest Catch,” “Bering Sea Gold” follows the crews of several ships that are uniquely equipped to discover and dig up gold from the freezing Bering Sea off Alaska’s shores.
