JB Perrette, Key NBCU Digital Exec, Exits

Executive orchestrated digital distribution of TV programming for the company and once sat on Hulu’s board

Jean-Briac Perrette, a key digital exec for NBCUniversal, is the latest executive to leave the company in the wake of Comcast’s takeover earlier this year.

Perrette, known as JB, had worked for NBCUniversal for 11 years, most recently as president of digital & affiliate distribution and content distribution strategy. He played a key role in determining how television programming was distributed on digital platforms, including Hulu, and served on Hulu's board until NBCUniversal gave up its seats as a concession during the merger.

Previously, Perrette headed digital distribution for NBCUniversal. During his tenure, the company fought with Apple’s iTunes Store to institute variable pricing for TV shows.

“After 11 years with NBCUniversal, JB has decided to move on and explore new opportunities,” said Matt Bond, executive VP of content distribution for NBCU. “He has been a terrific leader, navigating the company through the ever-changing digital landscape.”

Other departing NBCU executives include Jeff Gaspin, Angela Bromstad, Don Browne and Paula Madison.
