Kelly Ripa’s New ‘Live!’ Co-Host Debuting Sept. 4

It probably isn't Seth Meyers

Kelly Ripa's new permanent "Live!" co-host will be named Sept. 4, the show says.

Ripa began hosting "Live!" with rotating co-hosts on Nov. 21 after Regis Philbin's departure from the show. Since then, 59 men and women have co-hosted. One of them will be named permanent host on Sept. 4, a Tuesday.

Ripa will start the season the day before by hosting solo for the first time. Her and her new co-host's guests on Sept. 4 will be "Homeland" actress Claire Danes and "American Idol" winner Phillip Phillips.

One co-host we can probably cross of the permanent host list? "Saturday Night Live" head writer and "Weekend Update" anchor Seth Meyers.

"No, no, no, no, no," he told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel in July when asked if he hoped to fill Philbin's shoes. "I’m really in love with the job I have."
