Roger Ebert, Rainn Wilson Enter Toronto’s Twitter Showdown

James Gunn, Grace Wang and critics David Poland, Eric Kohn and Scott Tobias are also in the 140-character competition

Roger Ebert will take part in a Twitter showdown at the Toronto International Film Festival.

The legendary film critic will tweet his thoughts about the movie industry, and six Twitter-savvy panelists will each respond to Ebert's statements. The audience will then vote on who tweeted the best response per round, taking into account wit and originality.

MTV's Dan Levy will host the panel, which includes "The Office" star Rainn Wilson and his "Super" director James Gunn, critics David Poland (Movie City News), Eric Kohn (indieWIRE) and Scott Tobias (The Onion's AV Club), and Grace Wang, who serves as the Far-Flung correspondent for RogerEbert.com.

While Deal Central finds Poland's observations on Hollywood to be endlessly fascinating, my money is on Tobias to prevail in the competition, though I'm sure Gunn will be gunning for the top spot.

The event is scheduled to take place at the festival's Filmmakers' Lounge on Saturday, Sept. 11, from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m, and you can follow all the 140-character action right here.
