Peter Dinklage, Nicola Peltz in Talks for ‘Deep Blue Goodbye’ with Christian Bale

John D. MacDonald mystery adaptation also stars “Gone Girl” Oscar nominee Rosamund Pike

Actors Peter Dinklage and Nicola Peltz are diving into Fox’s “Deep Blue Goodbye.”

The Golden Globe-winning “Game of Thrones” star and “Transformers: Age of Extinction” ingenue are in talks to join previously announced cast Christian Bale and Rosamund Pike, an individual with knowledge of both deals told TheWrap.

“Deep Blue” tells of a Fort Lauderdale beach bum who lives on a houseboat called The Busted Flush, where he takes mysterious cases and gets into trouble helping damsels in distress.

“Mystic River” author Dennis Lehane wrote the most recent draft of the screenplay, which is based on MacDonald’s 1964 novel. Dana Stevens and Kario Salem penned previous drafts.

Bale takes the lead role from previously attached A-lister Leonardo DiCaprio. This also marks Pike’s first gig since her captivating turn in “Gone Girl.”

Dinklage will next be seen on HBO’s small screen juggernaut “Game of Thrones,” which debuts April 12.
