‘South Park’ Season Premiere to Feature a School Shooting (Video)

Season 22 premiere of the Comedy Central series is titled “Dead Kids”

Comedy Central’s promotional campaign for the new season of “South Park” thus far has featured little more than the hashtag #CancelSouthPark, leaving fans to speculate about what the show was planning.

Well, a new promo clip from Wednesday’s premiere episode may have finally provided some answers.

The clip, from the Season 22 premiere titled “Dead Kids,” sees Stan enjoying a family dinner and describing the events of his day — which just so happened to include a school shooting.

The episode seems like it’ll address the fact that school shootings seem to have become a part of everyday life in the U.S., because even though Stan’s mother seems upset by the news, Stan and his father are far more interested in the fact that he failed a math quiz.

Even the network’s official episode description omits mention of the shooting: “Randy is desperate to help Sharon get her emotions under control, and Cartman unexpectedly fails his math test.”

Season 22 of “South Park” premieres on Comedy Central Wednesday, Sept. 26 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
