Steven Spielberg Fantasy Project ‘Lumen’ Gets Pilot Order From TNT

Show will center on a family that’s transported to a fantasy world

TNT has given a pilot order to “Lumen,” a fantasy project that counts Steven Spielberg‘s Amblin Television among its producers.

The pilot centers around the famous author of a best-selling series of fantasy books who suddenly disappears, and a family of four that finds itself transported to the mystical alternate world that inspired the author’s work. Once there, the family is plunged into the middle of a war raging between rival magical forces, of light and darkness. Facing peril at every turn, they must unravel a complicated mystery and uncover some astonishing secrets as they struggle to find their way home.

TNT Original Productions is producing in association with Amblin Television, Full Fathom Five and ABC Signature Studios, with Amblin Television co-presidents Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey, James Frey and Todd Cohen of Full Fathom Five executive producing, along with Joe Johnston and Chris Black.

Johnston (“Captain America: The First Avenger”) is set to direct the pilot, working from a script by “Mad Men” vet Chris Black.
