Warner Brothers has tapped Camela Galano to fill the newly created position of president, international film acquisitions, the studio announced Wednesday.
In her new post, Galano will be responsible for acquiring the rights across all media – theatrical, home entertainment, television and digital – to non-Warner Brothers produced English-language films. She will also work to expandd the country’s global distribution. Galano will report to Richard Fox, executive vice president, international.
“Cam is a smart, savvy and thoughtful business executive,” said Fox. “Her international film experience, contacts and reputation are unparalleled. Through Cam’s efforts, we will acquire films for selected international territories that will complement our own slates of studio and locally-produced films in those countries.”
Galano previously spent more than 20 years at New Line Cinema, where she most recently served as president of the studio’s international releasing, overseeing and managing the release of films in over 120 international territories.
