Michael Ian Black is a national treasure, and he’s sharing his gems with Kumail Nanjiani, Jonah Ray and their unique audience this week.
On “The Meltdown With Jonah and Kumail,” the comedian realizes that he doesn’t have the kind of material “to burn on some shit show on Comedy Central.” So he instead asked Twitter what he should do onstage, the results of which you can see in the below clip, exclusive to TheWrap.
The first suggestion from Black’s loyal followers was that he dress like Steve Martin in the ’70s and do a lot of cocaine, which went “great,” he told the crowd at the hip Los Angeles comic book shop’s stand-up show.
Another particularly infatuated Twitter user suggested they get married on stage. But first, Black had to perform a very rudimentary divorce ceremony with his “wife” of 15 years. (It wasn’t his real wife, don’t worry — and “I divorce thee, I divorce thee, I divorce thee” doesn’t hold up in a California court of law.)

As it turns out, the starry-eyed Twitter follower was revealed to be “Undateable” actor Ron Funches, clutching some sort of a weird, pot-smoking stuffed frog. Always a man of his word, Black went through with the amateur ceremony anyway, including sharing a long, passionate kiss with his new blushing bride.
