In case you were wondering, Whoopi Goldberg does own a vibrator and its name is Stanley. “The View” co-host confessed on-air to having the sex toy during a “Hot Topics” segment about a ventriloquist in South Africa who is challenging a Twitter gag order against his puppet.
The panel, which included “Glee” actress Naya Rivera who was filling in for absent Rosie O’Donnell, discussed whether or not it was fair to ban comedian Conrad Koch from posting to the social media site in the guise of his dummy after being accused of spouting hate speech.
“Why are we talking about him like he’s real?” Rosie Perez said. “He’s a freakin’ puppet. This is a piece of wood and plastic.”
“Listen, I have a vibrator named Stanley,” Goldberg said. “And yes, Stanley has a Twitter account.”
“The View” audience reacted with laughter and applause while Goldberg’s fellow co-hosts all covered their mouths in surprise.
If Goldberg was kidding about her vibrator being on Twitter, her joke has become a reality as someone set up an account for @StanleyVibrator on Tuesday.
Personal vibrators have been discussed on “The View” before. As TheWrap previously reported, former “View” frontwoman Barbara Walters mentioned during a February show that she called her own sex toy, “Selfie.”
