Robert De Niro & Al Pacino: Two method acting greats in one cop car. They partnered so memorably in “Heat,” but there interactions were mostly confined to that famous coffee shop scene. It would be good to see them share more than a cup of joe. Plus, they need to do penance for “Righteous Kill.”
Jeff Bridges & John Goodman: They were one of the best on-screen comedic pairings ever as The Dude and Walter Sobchack in “The Big Lebowski,” but we all know they know drama better than TNT. Who wouldn’t want to watch these two investigating a murder on the small screen?
Ben Affleck & Matt Damon: McConaughey and Harrelson were friends before boarding the critically-acclaimed HBO drama, so let’s give friendship a chance. Affleck and Damon already won an Oscar together. This could be their next shot at an Emmy.
Holly Hunter & Frances McDormand: Nobody plays prickly and complicated heroes like these two women. Now if only they could convince the Coen Brothers to direct. That would be a worthy follow-up to the Yellow King.
Amy Adams & Ryan Gosling: Adams has proven she can take on any role she puts her mind to, while Gosling needs some true blue redemption after “Gangster Squad.”
Brad Pitt & George Clooney: They worked so well together while working against the law in “Oceans 11,” it would be interesting to see how they fare working for the law.
Daniel Day-Lewis & Joseph Gordon-Levitt: Both have shown a propensity for intensity, so here’s to hoping we get to watch DDL drink JGL’s milkshake one day while discussing the particulars of a case.
Josh Brolin & Sean Astin: No one needs a “Goonies” sequel, but an on-screen reunion between its two male leads couldn’t hurt.
Jennifer Lawrence & Robin Wright: Providing Wright can sneak away from “House of Cards” long enough, she’s perfect to play a seasoned cop who takes a vulnerable rookie under her wing.
Lupita Nyong’o & Barkhad Abdi: He’s the captain now — and she just got promoted to lieutenant.
