Jake Tapper, Don Lemon to Fill in for CNN’s Erin Burnett During Maternity Leave

CNN will also try out two new shows in 11 p.m. hour during Burnett’s absence

Jake Tapper and Don Lemon will fill in for CNN host Erin Burnett during her maternity leave, and the network will give limited runs to two new shows during her absence, the network said Tuesday.

Tapper, host of CNN’s “The Lead,” will fill in for Burnett on her show “OutFront” at 7 p.m. during the weeks of Dec. 2, 9 and 16 while continuing to host his own show, which airs at 4 p.m.

Lemon will take over “Outfront” duties during the week of Dec. 23, continuing through the week of Jan. 6.

In addition, Lemon will host a half-hour offering “The 11th Hour,” which will air at 11 p.m. — when “OutFront” also usually airs — through the weeks of Dec. 2 through Dec. 16. The 11:30 p.m. timeslot for those weeks will be occupied by another new, limited show, “CNN Today,” which will be hosted by Brooke Baldwin.
